Yay. The search for a decent messenger application seems to come to and end.
Trillian, it's called.
Gaim (gaym more like), alas, did not quite cut it.
This time, thanks to James. I should have listened a few months ago.

Brilliant...
"But the prize for dedication to duty should go to a Labour canvasser in Stroud, Gloucestershire, who approached a family at a funeral waiting to bury their father and inquired: "Just wanted to ask if you were voting Labour this time?" The daughter told her she would and the canvasser left with an upbeat: "Oh good, have a nice day." A Labour spokesperson said the canvasser did not realise she was interrupting a funeral: "She saw people in smart hats and she just had a complete mental aberration."

Well, at least Blair got a bit of a kicking.
Given 100,000 civillians are estimated to have been killed in the Iraq conflict, that's a seat for every 2,100 lives.
Still he hasn't lost as many seats as the number of blatent lies we've had to put up with in the last 8 years.

Ah, Little Chef. Or Little Thief as Rach's brother says rather humourously.
I love their strategy for road-side cafe domination. Dodgy food served in shabby surrounding by surly staff, and all for a sky high price.
And do they have some fantastic facts? Yes they do. A selection...
"Little Chef has been synonymous with serving good food for over 40 years.". Hmm, I think Egon Ronay might have a few words to say about that, like 'No, they haven't'.
"Most Little Chef restaurants are situated on or near major 'A' roads." One senses an air of desperation here. No shoddy B-roads for them then. Mostly.
"All children finishing their meal with a clean plate receive a free Little Chef lollipop!" Yes, come on kids, finish off that low quality, processed, fatty meal and you can have some sugar for afters.
"Today, Little Chef remain famous for their All-Day Breakfasts and offer a choice of eleven cooked varieties." Eggs. Eggs Sausage. Eggs Sausage Bacon. Eggs Bacon.. nearly there.

The best rubik's cubist in the UK.
The picture's of him setting a UK record at the German Open Championshipts.
16.14 seconds. Awesome.
My best time is still in the mid-30s but progress is being made. Slowly..

From the Guardian. 40 reasons to dislike Star Wars.
41. 30-something saying 'yeah man, it's the best film ever made'.
Yeah right. I think Egon Ronay might have a few things to say about that as well.

Well, according to the Bible, god's got it in for shrimp. Which I have read before somewhere.
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you
A funny fella god isn't he? He seems to have some real problems with perspective in my view. Making the entire universe in 6 days is impressive, but trivial gripes about seafood seem, well a little below him really.

Ooh. I like the sound of the M.Home. Though I'm not sure I'd want Micrsoft to provide it. How long before hackers are repeatedly flushing your toilet at 4 in the morning?
And Bill Gates' view of Firefox?
"I played around with it a bit, but it's just another browser, and IE [Microsoft's Internet Explorer] is better"
Uhm.. Egon Ronay might have a few words to say about that....

Quinten Hann escapes another rape charge.
This guy's plainly not a nice piece of work, and a succession of rape charges do not endear him to me any further.

A rather sickening tale of Saudi Arabian 'justice'.
"Throughout his confinement, 15 months of which were in solitary, he believed he would be executed by means of al-Hadi, a form of crucifixion that involves tying the victim to an x-shaped wooden cross and then being partially beheaded by a sword. The body is then left to rot in public as a warning to others."

Wonderful. How to rip up a telephone book. Or a pack of cards. How to resist the pull of four men?
The latter I can do already; proven more than once at Heaven nightclub.
Anyway, it was this quote that got me..
"One of the truest statements ever made is, 'All the world loves a strong man'. Every man, woman and child admires strength, and there is not a man that does not crave it."
I think he's probably right.

Ah, the disgraceful Evening Standard.
Never a newspaper to pass up the opportunity to ham up a slight risk into a full scale potential disaster.
This time it's 'iPods can make you deaf'.
This, I think, is nothing compared to the risks associated with reading the utter load of crap the trot out every weekday.
Next week in the Evening Standard. The Congestion Charge can make you go blind.

However, do ask why eBay would have a google adlink for spunk.
I think this could be the start of an interesting competition.

After the much-deserved publicity that Jamie Oliver received after his school dinner ruse I suppose this was inevitable.
"Celebrity chef Paul Rankin is campaigning for improvements in the quality of food served to the elderly in the UK's residential care homes.
Mr Rankin is calling for money spent on food in homes to be increased from an average of £18 to £28 a week and for more healthy menus to be introduced. "
Next week, Tony Worrel Thompson (who looks more and more like a dog's arse every time I see him on TV) starts a campaign to improve cooking in prisons.

Honestly. Microsoft are fucking wankers.
I get up on Saturday morning to find my PC has restarted itself having done an update.
That's a bit cheeky - who's PC is it anyway?
However, I find that the update has fouled up all of the internet services on my PC.
First IE, next windows I think...
