I???m not an advocate of health and safety lunacy.

However, as I read this story my eyebrows rose ever higher into my considerable forehead.

To summarise, a school has erected some new gates that have resulted in two pupils having their fingers severed.

I quote the head teacher, ???In both cases, the pupils were trying to leave school when they were supposed to be on site and were wearing rings when the school has a "minimal jewellery policy," said Mr Waring.???

This sounds alarmingly like he thinks the crime justified the outcome, no?

I???d hate to think what would happen if a kid turned up at school sporting one of argos??? finest around his or her neck!
