Since the browser is based on WebKit, there isn't really anything new to learn as far as HTML/XHTML/CSS-related rendering. The JavaScript is new, but it is also being adopted across the Mozilla-based line.

I can write a perfectly standards compliant webpage that renders differently in different browsers.

Therefore, whether or not I meet your mark of being a REAL (your caps) developer or otherwise, I find it necessary to verify correct presentation in all major browser. I suspect most other amateurs find the same.
