The Supernatural

Honestly. Just why do people want to believe in the supernatural? It's really quite beyond me.

It's utterly willful self-deceit. There is not a scrap of evidence for any supernatural event ever in the history of humanity. Not one. So why are human beings so susceptible to this delusion?

Anyway, some pillock guru claimed he could kill a man with his mystic powers alone. Nonsense of course. Someone in fact challenged him to prove it.

When the guru’s initial efforts failed, he accused Mr Edamaruku of praying to gods to protect him. "No, I'm an atheist," came the response. The holy man then said he needed to conduct a ritual that could only be done at night, outdoors, and after he had slept with a woman, drunk alcohol and rubbed himself in ash.
